I have a thing for depressing stories about troubled teenagers. Currently I'm reading "Go Ask Alice", a book about a teenager's downward spiral with drugs. I've also read Sylvia Plath's "Bell Jar". I don't know why I just seem to like such books. But somehow I think the more troubled the teenager, the more they seem to understand themselves, or want to understand themselves. I guess it's better than pretending everything is happy and letting it be all fakey-wakey 24/7. I personally think if you know the dark side of life, you'll definitely know yourself better. That is all.
